It has been proven that DTG is a durable printing method for garments, but it is important to follow proper aftercare instructions to keep the print looking its best. Recommended washing instructions are as followed:
- T-shirts with DTG prints should be washed INSIDE OUT.
- It is best to wash your DTG printed shirts with cool to cold water and on a gentle washing cycle.
- DTG shirts should be hung in a shady area to dry, avoiding unnecessary sun damage and if at all possible, avoiding the use of a tumble dryer.
- DTG-printed apparel should NEVER be washed with fabric softener.

Why do I need to turn my DTG-printed t-shirt inside out before washing?
Turning your DTG-printed t-shirt inside out before washing, prevents the print from being damaged during the washing process. When you wash your t-shirt inside out, you are extending the life-span of your shirt. It protects the print from being directly exposed to the laundry detergent.
Why can I not use hot water to wash my DTG-printed t-shirt?
Washing your DTG-printed shirt in HOT water can lead to the loss of color in your shirt, as well as shrinkage and damage to the print. When you wash in cool water, it helps keep the color vibrant and increases the length of use of your shirt. A good temperature to stay around is 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
What if I don't have time to air dry my DTG-printed t-shirt?
If it is necessary to use a tumble dryer, the temperature should be kept LOW and the cycle should be on the lowest setting. It is important to keep the shirt turned inside out from the washer.
